I have had good and bad experience with babysitters, but my latest one had shocked me to the core. I discovered that the person I relied upon to watch my kids while I was gone was hurting my family. I was apprehensive at first to use a nanny cam to confirm or deny my suspicions, but decided I wanted to make sure they were safe. Since that day I found out what was happening, I have been in complete dismay.
Because of large amounts of news reports regarding abusive babysitters, I purchased a nanny spy camera. I wanted to make sure my family was safe when I wasn't there. I had always trusted this one babysitter to look over my kinds on many instances. But something didn't feel right to me when I would come home, so I planted the nanny cam after the nanny arrived, but right before I left.
After I returned, the children seemed rattled. So, immediately after the babysitter had left, I checked the nanny camera. I was in utter shock when I saw that she was violently shaking my 18-month-old girl to cease her crying. I dropped to my knees and cried my eyes out - she was harming my family right under my nose.
After reporting the incident to the police and getting the nanny to confess to the incident, the police confirmed that I was smart to plant the nanny cam. They said this type of act is hard to capture on video and that the spy camera was what eventually saved my child's life. I felt relief knowing that I also helped put this person behind bars so she couldn't harm anyone else's family like she did mine.
