I knew I was running out of cash. Just about entirely broke my expenses were adding up. They shut my cable off a week ago and the refrigerator contained nothing but old assorted meats and something that resembled an old birthday cake. Looking at my phone I constantly worried that too would soon have service cut. I knew I was getting a pay raise soon and that would cover my expenses but I needed a plan to cover myself up until that point. A new pawn shop was started up around the block entered my mind. Knowing exactly what I had to do I scoured the house for anything of worth and found a pear shaped engagement ring along with some other items I decided to pawn off.
I hate selling the things I work so hard to accumulate. I love my video game systems and that set of china I kind of stole from my parents. To my dismay though; I found myself trapped between a rock and a hard spot. With another couple years on my student loan, a maxed out credit card, my car inspection up and rent due I needed to construct a plan to get myself out of the mess. Utilizing the pawn shop to my advantage was exactly what I needed to do.
Scouring my house I found a nice little pile of garbage for me to sell. Ranging from my CD collection to my video games and a two unused computers I filled my car up with all I decided to part with. For a second I considered having a garage sale or just put everything up on Craigslist but I needed money that night. I wanted to make sure I could eat dinner and have enough gas to get to work the next morning.
At last making it to the pawn shop I unloaded all of my gear and brought it inside. The man was happy to be of assistance and one by one I handed over my possessions for cold hard cash. Finally I pulled from my pocket the pear shaped engagement ring that I one time cherished. Handing it over the man gave me 50 bucks for it though I recall paying a whole lot more when I had initially obtained it.
When all was said and done I barely received enough money to get through the next few weeks with food on my dinner plate but my plan did work. On occasion I thing about that engagement ring I sold and at times almost regret it but then I'll load my mouth up with another fork full of this delicious steak and grin.
