What Makes A Good Ab Workout?

By Jim Evans

Anyone who tells you they wouldn't love to have rippled abs is lying. However, the majority of people will never succeed in getting killer abs because they either aren't willing to put in the work or they simply don't know how to go about it. If you really want great abs, read on below.

Reduce Fat With Cardio

If you have decided that you want to get a six pack, ab workout routines that consist of only crunches and sit ups aren't going to do much good. These types of exercises can help tone and tighten the muscles in your stomach, but they won't help eliminate the layer of fat that's covering your abs. Cardio is key to losing this fat and revealing your abs.

Cardio exercises can vary. Running, jogging, skipping and cycling are all good cardio workouts. If you don't know what ab workout to do, begin by following exercise videos online. The ab workout routines found on the web are equally as effective as working out at the gym. The good thing about online exercise videos is that you can do them in the privacy of your home whenever it's convenient for you.

Tighten Up Your Diet

Exercising is not the only thing you must do in your quest to get six pack abs. You have to also keep your diet clean. This means staying away from white flour products, processed foods and foods that have high fructose corn syrup. Also, do not eat fast foods or frozen meals that are "designed" for weight loss regimes. They are extremely unhealthy and contain a lot of sodium, trans fat and preservatives.

Instead of the junky stuff, fill your diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, beans, whole grains and lean protein like chicken and fish.

Workout out to get a ripped six pack seems almost impossible, but in reality it is not. You simply have to be committed to putting in the work. Eating right and doing plenty of ab workouts and cardio exercises will get you on your way to the ripped abs you've been dreaming about.
