How To Make Teaching Better With Christian Education Principles For Teachers

By Carol Nelson

It is a blessing to be a teacher. Apart from parents, children are always in direct contact with their teachers. This means that he has the opportunity to instill certain qualities that are enviable. This can be done more easily when he or she has been taught some Christian education principles for teachers.

The first step to getting things done right as a teacher is to consider the place of work as a mission field. This means that the teacher sees his students as a people that need a positive impact. That means he doesn't consider his employment as a secondary option to what he wanted. If he has this in mind, he would be loved by the students and this can help him attain more heights.

Another principle for teachers is to depend fully on God. Although the work looks more like a physical thing, relying on God makes it count the most. The place of prayer cannot be overemphasized if he needs the wisdom to tackle many of the challenges that come up, even in the lives of the students. In all things, he learns to give back the glory to God.

Teachers that love their students are doing well. This is so because it creates a channel for the teacher to know his students better. When he is approachable by his students, they are free to let him know many things about themselves including what happens in the family. A Christian teacher sees this as an opportunity to save lives.

When a teacher is money conscious, he can hardly make the impact he is supposed to create. Unfortunately, it has been observed that those who are more concerned about how much they can make in the profession usually end up with fewer riches than the ones who don't care much about it because they get more gifts at the end of the day. These gifts are sometimes from the children who were taught and have now grown up into very important personalities.

Humility marks the beginning of a career as a Christian teacher. This does not mean bringing yourself too low to be disrespected by the students but rather, it means understanding their weaknesses and meeting them where they need help even when they cannot say it. This important principle can only be gotten when the teacher learns from God himself who teaches how to be humble.

Without a genuine relationship with God, following these principles may seem difficult. This then implies that it is not easy to be a successful teacher without first knowing God. Christian teachers with this important virtue are less likely to face harm in their profession.

These and many more are important principles that guide a teacher that does well in the career he has chosen. There are many others that the teacher can learn by attending seminars and taking courses. Becoming a successful teacher is not a thing of luck as the person has to be prepared and work towards realizing his set goals by learning to live by godly principles.
